Digital Radio DAB+ Antennas
In some areas Digital Radio reception is weak. This may result in some stations not being received reliably or at all. An antenna designed for Digital Radio DAB+ can be installed underneath your existing TV Antenna to improve reception.
Digital Radio signals are broadcast in Band 3 of the VHF TV band on Channel 9A. In Brisbane they are broadcast from the TV towers on Mt Cootha. Existing VHF/UHF TV Antennas in good condition may be suitable for Digital Radio reception, but are not optimal for it. This is due to TV antennas being optimised for Horizontally Polarised signals, whereas Digital Radio is Vertically Polarised. Therefore in some cases a specific Digital Radio antenna will be needed.
The antennas I am using for Digital Radio are made by Fagor and are a Folded Dipole type. They mount neatly on your existing TV Antenna pole and are connected to your digital radio via your TV cabling.
